🛍️ Artisan Market is taking place in Dunfermline on St Catherine’s Wynd today.
💧 Sewage spills in Fife have tripled last year since 2022 according to newest report from Scottish Water. 714 spills resulted in over 10 million litres of sewage dumped into the waterways of Fife, compared to 194 the year before. While counted as sewage, this is also often simply rainwater. Scottish Water handles wastewater as much as rain and surface water, and the massive rainfall in recent years has been overwhelming the existing infrastructure.
💰 Inverkeithing heritage restoration and Dunfermline city square are both set to benefit from additional Scottish Government funding. The Inverkeithing initiative is dedicated to restoration of the Town House and improving the High Street and Market Square, while the Dunfermline city square is planned to be built on the gap site between the High Street and the bus station.
🚲 Bicycles abandoned at train stations and on board trains will be recycled if unclaimed for three months, ScotRail announced this week.
🚗 Knockhill is bringing Best of Scottish Motorsport to the track next weekend, with free entry to all serving and veteran members of the Armed Forces, anyone working for the NHS and holders of a Blue Light card.
🚧 The final works to facilitate easier traffic routing on Forth bridges continue, and in small hours next Sunday all traffic will be rerouted in the ultimate test of the new systems. Between midnight and 8am on 21 April all traffic will flow through the automated road barriers and onto the old Forth Road Bridge.
